Also it is such a pleasure to see the talents of our followers you do all have some amazing work so please share and look out for the logos in your news feed. Be sure to set your notifications to ‘see first’ on our home page. We have had a great response so far.

We have had a slow start to the year but February is where we really get into the swing of things and the 1st day has been no exception.
We were lucky enough to be invited to a meeting with First Art who are based at Cresswell Crags Museum and Visitor Centre in North East Derbyshire and whilst on an inspiring walk around the ancient gorge, which houses Britains first cave art, we forged some exciting plans for the future which we hope you will get involved in, you will be the first to hear about them when we have finalised dates and ideas.
We are extremely excited about working within this wonderful landscape.

.Last week we went to visit our new venue, Tansley Village Hall to finalise our plans for our art group which starts Feb 8th 10 am. We will be talking about our group at our networking event. and we will also be using the village hall for workshops and our popular SWOT, BRAND and PRICE chats. We have a new twitter account just for the Derbyshire Art Group follow it here.
We had a Purple and Grey evening out last Friday to the Chesterfield Museum we were invited to Contemporary work by members of The National Society of Graphic Fine Art and drawings by Joseph Syddall. The work was amazing and we recommend that you all go its on until 31st of March. Of course we had to get a selfie outside of the crooked spire!
Our attendees have maximised opportunities that have been created at our FREE networking events, yes we can sit at home all day making and painting but sometimes a bit of social interaction can push us towards our goals, we meet people that can change our mindsets and lead us towards new paths.
It's good to open our eyes to whats happening in the real world. Or it can be as simple as making a new friend, networking is fun especially when everyone in the room is a creative too.
So there is an open invitation to our first networking event of 2017

Purple and Grey are one-year-old in November! We feel we have come a long way since we sat down and planned our business. In the past year we have been overwhelmed by the support from all our networking venues, speakers and of course you for coming along.
Next year we have some private consultancy lined up with various local groups so we are not going to deliver the public group seminars for the moment but we urge you to seek out West Studios and Banks Mill as options for these. We will take on one to one bookings from our menu as mentioned above.

What a lovely morning with The Summer School we couldn't squeeze anymore in (a couple are missing off this photo too!) we couldn't be happier with the way the group worked together and discussed The Art of Branding.
When you are starting out in business or thinking of a change it helps to attend a few courses to focus your goals and meet like minded people and realise that you are not alone.
This mornings group went away with a handful of notes ready to take their business to the next level. We cant wait to see the results!

A couple of weeks ago we were asked to go on a show for Channel 5, of course we said yes as we are up for anything!
So a very rainy Wednesday in Winster we started filming for the show House Doctor. You couldnt have picked a wetter day and as we stood out side the property we had no idea what to expect.
The House Doctor premise is of making homeowners aware how their property appears to others and what they need to do to improve their chances of getting the house sold.
We were the 'others' the crew were very careful not to reveal any room to us until they had set up the cameras and we walked in, so what you will see on the show is our true first reactions.
The first week we were filmed looking around the whole property and we commented on different areas that needed to be improved. It was a fast learning curve as we often talk over each other so we had to learn to stop and listen to each other for a change!
After the filming our tapes were shown to the home owners who agreed along with the designers what improvements needed to be done to the property, our property had been on the market for 20 months so some work was required!
The second day of filming was much brighter with no rain and we were eager to see what had changed!
We were kept waiting until the crew were ready and it was very tempting to have a peek but we didnt!
It was so exciting and when we finally saw the rooms we were filmed as we walked in and the transformation was fantastic the house had been totally changed. We both spoke about our impressions of the make over and gave a small summary and because we answer for each other we had five takes on the last sentences!
The whole experience was brilliant and we got expenses too so we had a power lunch afterwards with the proceeds!
Of course we had to give the equipment ago too! But I dont think we really know which end points where!
So look out for House Doctor Episode 14 later in the year you may catch a glimspe of Purple and Grey!

We spent a lovely morning networking at Suki Craft Gallery in Tutbury. Owner Niki put on a grand spread of teas and coffees with beautiful china it really was a pleasant way to spend a morning.
The attendees swapped stories and tips and had a look around the brand new Metal Manipulation workshop at the end of the sculpture garden.
Inside the gallery there are two floors of fabulous fine art and crafts and it was a chance for new artists to approach Niki with their business cards and get to know her.
There was even a prize draw and look these two won our creative mugs!
We would like to thank Niki for letting Purple and Grey use her lovely gallery for our event we recommend you visit real soon.
